“O God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?” As God’s people, in darker seasons of life, we can resonate with the psalmist’s anguish. Though God does not leave us, we at times struggle to hear His voice and sense His presence. The psalmist follows his inquiry, listing reasons for God to act. Then, the writer declares, “But God is my King from long ago; he brings salvation on the earth.” During our most challenging days, may we also proclaim God’s kingship and the power of His salvation.
