As Hezekiah prepares for an attack from the king of Assyria, he encourages God’s people, saying, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged…with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.” Hezekiah and Isaiah cry out to the LORD, and the LORD responded: “…the LORD sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king.” As believers, though our lives are not exempt from trials, we can rely on God’s presence and strength. When we turn to the LORD, He hears our prayers, comes to our rescue, and fights our battles.
