Psalm 68 is a call of vivacious and victorious worship of God, our Mighty Warrior and Conquering King. He reigns in power, fighting on behalf of those He deeply loves, never overlooking the fatherless, the widows, the lonely, the prisoners, or the poor. The psalmist describes God’s triumphal procession from the ancient heavens to His dwelling place in Jerusalem. “You, God, are awesome in Your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to His people.” May our hearts respond in true worship for our mighty and powerful King, who defends, empowers, and draws near to His people.
