Psalm 72 is a royal psalm, often associated with Solomon, praying for a king who rules with righteousness, justice, and compassion. It envisions a reign marked by peace, prosperity, and care for the poor and oppressed. Ultimately, it points beyond any earthly king to a perfect and eternal reign blessed by God.

True leadership reflects God’s heart for justice and mercy, not power alone. This psalm invites us to long for and trust in God’s perfect rule over our lives and the world.
