Apollos, a Jewish believer from Alexandria, arrived in Ephesus and began teaching about Christ in the synagogue. Though he taught with passion and accuracy, he knew only the baptism of John and had not learned about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. “When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.” Rather than correcting him publicly, Priscilla and Aquila responded in wisdom, humility, and love, privately helping Apollos grow in understanding of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. May we grow in spiritual maturity and our commitment to discipling others.
