With the wall completed, Nehemiah appoints leaders and gatekeepers to protect Jerusalem and ensure its continued stability. He then records the genealogies of the people who returned from exile, emphasizing the importance of identity and covenant community. The chapter shows that rebuilding a city is not just about structures but about establishing a people devoted to God.

God cares not only about what we build but about who we become. Lasting spiritual renewal requires both strong walls and faithful hearts.
