A father passionately urges his children to pursue wisdom above everything else because wisdom will protect, honor, and guide them throughout life. He contrasts the path of the righteous, which grows brighter as they continue walking, with the path of the wicked, which becomes increasingly dark. The direction of our lives is shaped by what we continually allow into our hearts, which is why Scripture tells us to guard them carefully. Small daily choices may seem insignificant, but over time they become a path—and that path eventually determines where we end up.
