Satan was permitted to test Job further, and Job was struck with painful sores from head to toe while even his wife urged him to abandon his faith. Job refused to curse God, but his suffering became so overwhelming that chapter 3 records his raw lament as he questioned why he had been born and poured out his grief before God. Job did not lose his faith, but he honestly brought his pain into God’s presence.
