1 CORINTHIANS 5; PSALM 93 - A Life That Reflects His Holiness

God’s love does not make holiness unimportant. In 1 Corinthians 5, Paul addresses sin within the church and calls believers to respond with seriousness rather than indifference. His concern is for the spiritual health and integrity of the whole community (v. 6–8). He reminds us that because Christ has been sacrificed for us, we are called to live with sincerity and truth (v. 7–8).

Psalm 93 reminds us why holiness matters: “The LORD reigns” (v. 1). His throne is established, His rule is secure, and His commands are trustworthy. The psalm closes by declaring that holiness adorns His house (v. 5).

The Lord who reigns over all creation also calls His people to live differently. We do not pursue holiness to earn His love, but because we belong to Him. His grace leads us toward honesty, repentance, and a life that reflects His character.

Is there an area of your life where the Lord is calling you to greater honesty and surrender? Bring it before Him in prayer today.
